Preschool Aide - Teacher Assistant
Do you enjoy playing, talking, and reading with young children to help them learn and grow? Our Learning for Life Preschool may be the perfect part-time job for you. Our program is run through a partnership with Yamhill-Carlton School District, and aims to provide a strong foundation for our 3- and 4-year olds in preparing them for Kindergarten.

We expect all Preschool Assistant Teachers to be educated, kind, loving, fun, professional, and creative. Preschool Staff should instill a love of learning in their students, and focus on helping each individual student learn at his or her own pace.
We currently are look for 1-2 Teacher Assistants for our classes. Hours are:
3-year old-class: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday at 8:15am to 11am
4-year old-classes: Mornings - Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, 8am-11:30am; Afternoons - Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday 11:30-2:30.

Ideally we would like to staff all available classes with at least one Aide; however, our current need for support staff could be in the form of relief Aides who work some days or classes, or over the transition between morning and afternoon classes.

This Part-time job may be combined with Tiger Academy Aide position(s) for those qualified applicants
Pay: $14.00 - $16.80 per hour [experience and certification dependent]
Benefits: LFL employees may qualify for scholarship funds from YCTC for future early-childhood, elementary, or continuing education coursework or training.

Responsibilities

Support the teacher in preparing students for Kindergarten. This includes academic, social, large motor, and fine motor skills

Help to maintain a clean and organized learning environment
-
Develop a positive relationship with each child and promote the development of self-esteem and self-discipline
-
Sanitize all surfaces, equipment, and classroom toys
-
Help students explore the world around them
-
Support teacher in maintaining a safe and healthy environment
-
Plan art, music, and movement activities
-
Become familiar with emergency procedures and protocol
-
Follow Learning for Life Preschool policies as well as YCES building policies
-
Use appropriate behavior management and classroom discipline as directed by teacher
-
Attend all staff meetings
-
Attend trainings as necessary
-
Help plan and assist with Winter Program and Pre-K Graduation

Participate in fundraising for the school
-
Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications

Must pass background check
-
Minimum requirements are graduation from high school or GED, and some experience working with children of preschool age

Must have reached legal age of majority (Oregon is 18)

Establish and maintain effective, working relationships with children, parents, staff, and program specialists

Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
-
First Aid/CPR certified
Working Conditions/Demands

Must be able to lift and carry up to 30lbs.
